PETALING JAYA: Quality education and future career paths have been and must always be the main focus of Malaysian youth, says Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.

       The MCA president said the younger generation is the most important asset for the country, adding that education and career are the basic "necessities" for Malaysian youth.

       "I am glad to exchange views with our young leaders from the Young Malaysians Movement (YMM), led by its new president Gan Pee Eng at Wisma MCA.

       "I am proud that the two education institutions set up by MCA, namely University Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) and Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology (TAR UMT) have been able to provide quality education and support to our youngsters to ensure a successful and bright future for them.

       "I agreed with YMM's direction to prioritise courses or comprehensive training for our youth, in terms of academic, vocational training, speech and effective communication, and others.

       "I would also like to take this opportunity to congratulate the new leaders who were elected in last year's election," he said in a statement posted on his Facebook on Sunday (Jan 21).
