Reform UK's Richard Tice warns of ‘Starmergeddon’
Sir Simon Clarke’s warning that the Conservatives are heading for a “shattering defeat” appears more real than ever this morning, after a shocking poll showed Reform UK is drawing ever closer to his party’s abysmal poll rating.
A new YouGov poll reveals the Tories are now 27 points behind Labour, and Reform is now just seven points behind.
The Conservatives remain at just 20 percent support, while Reform UK has marked their highest poll rating to date, at 13 percent.
Reform is now comfortably the third party in British politics, leading the Lib Dems by five points and the Green Party by seven.
A seminal YouGov poll of 14,000 voters at the start of the year showed that, due to the electoral system, Reform may still fail to win any seats, they could be the difference between a Labour minority Government and a Labour majority of 120.

Responding to the poll this morning, leader Richard Tice told the Express the data “mirrors our private numbers”.
He said: “We are making continuing progress while Tory support is collapsing.”
Last night it emerged a key Rishi Sunak aide, whose job was to lead on polling at No. 10 Downing Street, has quit and joined the right-wing Conservative Britain Alliance.
Will Dry, 26, warned that the Tories are “heading for the most almighty of defeats”.
In his resignation statement, he told the media: “Be in no doubt: we are on course for at least a decade of Labour rule”.
“And if Farage comes back, the Conservative Party essentially won’t exist by Christmas.”

In response, Nigel Farage, Reform UK’s honorary president, said the Tories “seem to be utterly terrified of me”.
He added: “They have no one to blame but themselves.”
The appalling Tory polling also follows Sir Simon Clarke’s warning that his party must sack Rishi Sunak, or face a decade of Keir Starmer.
He warned Rishi Sunak is “leading the Conservatives into an election where we will be massacred”, and warned his MP colleagues that denying the impending catastrophe is not a solution.
While no other Tories joined Sir Simon’s call for Mr Sunak to go, rebels allied to the Middlesbrough MP predicted that next month’s by-elections, and May’s local elections, would force more MPs to join him in submitting letters of no confidence.

In February, voters in Wellingborough and Kingswood will vote for new MPs following the recall petition against Peter Bone in the former, and the resignation of Chris Skidmore in the latter.
Labour’s current 20-point lead suggests they will win both previously safe Conservative constituencies.
The local elections will then take place in May, with 107 councils up for grabs as well as all 8 Metro Mayors, and 38 police and crime commissioners.

Responding to the criticism levelled at him from fellow MPs, Sir Simon said: “No one likes that guy that’s shouting ‘iceberg’ but I suspect that people will be even less happy if we hit the iceberg.
“And we are on course to do that. That is the point that I need to land with colleagues respectfully and calmly.”
“We are not at the moment responding to the situation with the seriousness that it warrants.
