IPOH: More Agro Madani and Rahmah Sales bazaars will be held to help the people tackle the rising cost of living, says Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

       The Prime Minister said owing to numerous requests by the people, the bazaars would be expanded to more areas nationwide and held more frequently.

       "Even though we have taken various steps, we know the cost of living has increased," he said in his speech during a visit to the bazaar at Klebang Restu here on Sunday (Jan 28).

       Anwar said he was also aware of concerns that food prices would remain high even with more investment coming into the country.

       "There have been criticisms that with more investment and an improved economy, prices of goods will also increase.

       "It's not easy as prices have increased globally and are impacting (everyone).

       "I accept this (criticism) and will try to find ways to resolve issues at grassroots level," he added.

       Anwar said he had tasked Bukit Gantang MP Datuk Syed Abu Hussin Hafiz Syed Abdul Fasal, who was also present, to help coordinate efforts to handle cost of living matters.

       "He will lead a committee under the National Action Council on Cost of Living (NACCOL)," he said.
