KOTA KINABALU: Two men and a woman have been arrested in separate raids here and in Penampang district for possession of syabu and cannabis worth almost RM300,000.
Police found most of the drugs after raiding a luxury condominium in the state capital.
Penampang police chief Supt Sammy Newton said they detained the first suspect at Kampung Nambazan in Penampang at 1.30pm on Wednesday (Jan 24).
Following a check, he said, they found some 38g of what they suspected was syabu and about 24g of material believed to be ganja on the 31-year-old man.
"After questioning, the suspect said he was a drug dealer and the 'custodian' of the illegal substances along with a friend he identified as 'Eric'," he told a press conference on Monday (Jan 29).
"He also revealed that the rest of the drugs were kept in a high-end condominium at Luyang in Kota Kinabalu," he added.
Supt Newton said police then raided the condominium unit and arrested a man, 33, and a woman, 31.

The man tried to escape when police entered the unit but was apprehended, he added.
"Checks of the unit led to the discovery of a dark plastic bag containing eight transparent packets hidden in a cupboard.
"The drugs, weighing 6.4kg, have been brought to the police station along with the suspects for further investigation," he said, adding that they also seized two vehicles.
