KARACHI: The Bank Al-Habib on Wednesday announced that its profit-after-tax (PAT) surged by over 127 per cent to Rs35.930 billion in 2023 from Rs16.686bn in calendar year 2022.

       The bank also announced a 50 per cent or Rs5 per share as final cash dividend in addition to interim cash dividend already paid at Rs9 per share. The bank did not offer any bonus or rights share.

       Meanwhile, the PAT of Soneri Bank Ltd posted a steep rise of almost 223pc to Rs6.075bn in 2023 compared to Rs1.883bn in the preceding year.

       The bank announced a 30pc or Rs3 per share final cash dividend.

       Sazgar earns Rs1.4bn

       The PAT of Sazgar Engineering Works Ltd swelled to to Rs1.4 billion during July-December 2023 from Rs79 million in the same period of 2022. Net sales surged to Rs14.5bn from Rs4.7bn during the quarter.

       In a stock filing on Wednesday, SEWL said the company’s board of directors approved purchases a piece of land of nearly 20 kanals valuing approximately Rs165m adjacent to its four-wheeler project.
