GEORGE TOWN: Penang will be the destination of the next International Advertising Association (IAA) World Congress, marking the first occasion the event is held in Southeast Asia.

       Scheduled to take place from March 6-8, the event will be jointly co-hosted by IAA Malaysia, Penang Tourism and Creative Economy Committee office (Petace) and Penang Convention & Exhibition Bureau (PCEB).

       IAA Malaysia president John D Chacho said IAA Malaysia and the state government proudly stand as the host for the groundbreaking 45th IAA World Congress, and described it as a historic event that marks the first of its kind in South East Asia.

       "Under the theme, Brand: RE-CODE, for a Better World, Better Life," this congress is not just a convergence of ideas but a celebratory moment, commemorating the 85th anniversary of IAA Global and the 30th anniversary of IAA Malaysia and International Women's Day," he said during a press conference.

       He said the congress was also aligned with Penang2030 Vision where by 2030, Penang aspired to be the greenest state in the country.

       The congress was gearing up to host a collection of invaluable insights from a stellar cast of over 30 speakers.

       Among other collaborators of the events were Google, Meta, Lions, BBC News, Media Prime and Celcomdigi.
