Richard Holden discusses possibility of Farage joining Tories
Nigel Farage has said he is “open-minded” about joining the Tories after the next general election.
The former Ukip and Brexit Party leader ruled out the move before the country goes to the polls, expected in the autumn.
But he said he could seek to join the Conservative Party after election depending on how the right of British politics realigns.
The ex-MEP told The Telegraph: “I think we just have to wait to see. I'm open-minded about anything that happens after the election.”
Pointing to factors including the size of a potential Labour victory, the performance of insurgent party Reform UK and how the Tories change, he added: "Let’s see.
"But for me the thought that the official Conservative Party is ever going to move, it doesn’t look very likely. But who knows?”

Mr Farage made the comments ahead of a launch event for the new right-wing Popular Conservatives group tomorrow.
He will be attending in his role as a GB News presenter but his presence will fuel speculation about his political future.
Speakers at the event include former prime minister Liz Truss, ex-Cabinet minister Sir Jacob Rees-Mogg and Red Wall MP Lee Anderson.

Mr Farage previously sent the rumour mill into overdrive with his appearance at the Conservative Party conference last year.
The Brexit architect left the Tories in 1992 over the signing of the Maastricht Treaty in 1992, which laid the foundations for the EU.
He has since founded Ukip and the Brexit Party, and is currently honorary president of Reform UK.
