Prime Minister Rishi Sunak is hoping to overturn a huge deficit in the polls (Image: Getty)
Rishi Sunak is favouring an October General Election amid fears “November could be mad enough” with American voters also going to the polls.
The Prime Minister is hoping to overturn a 20-point deficit in the opinion polls and prevent Labour from securing power.
But strategists are said to be concerned about global chaos if Donald Trump wins the US elections.
Mr Sunak had reportedly been considering November 14 as a polling day. But the Prime Minister is also expected to travel to Brazil for the G20 several days later.

The US election is being held on November 5. A victory for Donald Trump will spark concern about America’s commitment to NATO and whether Washington would defend a European country if it was attacked by Vladimir Putin.
One senior source said: “All the mood music is pointing to October now. There’s a feeling November could be mad enough.”
