AN Army instructor had sex with a teen recruit after he asked to take charge of female trainees, a court martial heard.

       Cpl Christopher Irwin, 31, had pastoral and welfare responsibilities at the Army Foundation College.

       He previously asked Top Brass if he could “command the female section”.

       Irwin started a consensual relationship with the 16-year-old and they had sex at his Oldham home.

       He was interviewed by service cops after leaving the Harrogate college for the Parachute Regiment.

       During the probe, he is said to have threatened to kill her sergeant’s dog and joked he would “murder her” if she told anyone they had met.

       The teen told cops: “I’m so scared of him — he doesn’t care about rules.”

       Irwin admits a charge of sex with a child but denies intimidation.

       The trial at Bulford Military Court, Wilts, continues.
