PETALING JAYA: On the 75th year of the party's foundation, MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong says he remembers his predecessors' struggle and vowed to be the people's voice.

       He said the fight for the interests of the people from all walks of life, regardless of their backgrounds remained as MCA's purpose.

       "It was 75 years ago on Feb 27, 1949, when history was made with the setting up of MCA.

       "The spirit of our party founder, Tun Tan Cheng Lock and other predecessors continues to live on in each of our members," he said in a Facebook post on Tuesday (Feb 27).

       Dr Wee and some party leaders and members raised the party flag in front of MCA headquarters in Wisma MCA in Kuala Lumpur in conjunction with the anniversary.

       The official party anniversary celebration at Wisma MCA is on March 9.

       Dr Wee noted that the past 75 years had matured the party and made it an experienced one that had gone through the good times and persevered through the bad.
