Electoral Commission figures show that a contribution of £5,000 was made by one living donor in 2023.

However, Humza Yousaf's party was left £253,000 as bequests left in the wills of supporters who have died, MailOnline reports.
All donations to political parties worth more than £500 have to be registered.

It comes as the nationalist party has grappled with a chaotic year in the wake of Nicola Sturgeon's shock resignation.
It is facing a police probe into its finances which has led to the arrests of several senior figures who were later released without charge pending further investigation.
The investigation has seen officers swoop on Ms Sturgeon's Glasgow home and the SNP's headquarters in Edinburgh.
Operation Branchford centres on how more than £600,000 in donations to the party earmarked for an independence referendum has been used.
