MELAKA: The once ‘forlorn’ bazaar at Jalan Hang Tuah here will come alive again with colourful stalls, entertainment programmes and lucky draws this Ramadan in conjunction with Visit Melaka Year 2024.

       The organiser of Melaka Mega Ramadan Bazaar 2024, Muhammad Fikri Mohd Ali, said new ideas, such as a showcase of 200 compact cars, as well as artistic and musical performances, would be introduced to turn the bazaar into a tourist attraction.

       "There will also be a slew of charity events to help the needy as well as to make Ramadan more meaningful for the underprivileged.

       "The lucky draw sessions will offer prizes worth up to a total of RM50,000," he said in an interview here on Monday (March 4).

       He added that the bazaar will be held from March 12 to April 10.

       Muhammad Fikri said the rental prices of stalls are the same as last year, and 80% of the stalls have been taken up.

       He said the bazaar would also offer photo opportunities with lighting installations and dedicated space breaking fast.

       Muhammad Fikri said he expects 2.5 million visitors to patronise the bazaar throughout Ramadan, generating RM5mil in revenue this year.

       He said that last year, the bazaar registered 2.5 million visitors with close to RM3mil in revenue.
