HULU LANGAT: Driving test candidates may soon be able to take their computerised theory tests (KPP01) directly at driving schools from next month, says Anthony Loke.

The Transport Minister said driving institutes may apply to open KPP01 test centres on their own premises beginning in April.

Once approved, they will be required to set up the electronic driving test system (eTesting) for the practical course test (KPP02) within a year as well, he added.

“This will make it easier for candidates to obtain their licence and reduce the waiting time as all their tests will be conducted at a single location.

“This in turn will not only simplify the process towards owning a Malaysian driving licence but also further the government’s push towards digitalisation," he said during a visit to a driving school here on Tuesday (March 5).

He added that the ceiling price for the KPP01 test at driving institutes will be set at RM17 for motorcycles and RM27 for other vehicles.
