Property agent remanded for submitting false info for car loans

       SEREMBAN: A property agent has been remanded for allegedly submitting false information to a bank when applying for loans to buy two vehicles.

       The remand order for seven days was granted to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) by a Magistrate's Court here on Tuesday (March 5).

       Magistrate Nurul Saqinah Rolsi signed the order following an application by MACC prosecuting officer Zainab Yahaya.

       The suspect was represented by Datuk Hanif Hassan.

       It is learnt that the suspect, in his 40s, was detained around noon on Monday (March 4) when he turned up for questioning at an MACC office in Johor.

       Another person believed to be linked to the case was also detained in Chemor, Perak on the same day.

       The agent was said to have provided false information when applying for loans to purchase two cars.

       Negri Sembilan MACC director Awgkok Ahmad Taufik Putra Awg Ismail said the case is being investigated under Section 18 of the MACC Act 2009.
