CYBERJAYA: Tan Sri Azam Baki says he will look into claims by Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s two eldest sons that they are not the target of investigations by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).

"Let me get a clearer picture first before making any comments," the MACC chief commissioner said when met by reporters after the launch of the Cybersecurity Centre of Excellence (CCoE) here on Tuesday (March 26).

When pressed further, the MACC chief commissioner said he did not want to comment on the claims made by Mokhzani Mahathir, 63 and his elder brother, Mirzan, 65, during a recent interview.

Both brothers claimed that they were merely witnesses in the investigations, with their father, Dr Mahathir being the "primary suspect".

They also claimed that MACC hasn’t provided them with the details of the investigation against their father Dr Mahathir.

In January, Mokhzani and Mirzan were ordered by MACC to declare their assets dating back to 1981, the year Dr Mahathir first became prime minister.

They were given 30 days to do so but were later given a further 30-day extension by MACC.

The investigations are said to be linked to entities named in the Pandora Papers as well as the Panama Papers, which MACC had been probing since August 2022.

It was reported in January that Dr Mahathir slammed MACC for conducting what he claimed was "selective prosecution" against certain individuals, including his sons.
