Seaside living often comes at a premium and with gorgeous views, fresh coastal walks and plenty of fish and chips to enjoy it’s easy to see why. But not all places that feature beautiful beaches in the UK are as expensive as you might think - with some stunning spots boasting bargain house prices.

In Seaham, in County Durham, house prices range from as little as £15,000 for a two bedroom terraced property.

There are a number of other cheap properties up for grabs listed on property website Rightmove - with an astonishing 10 properties for under £50,000.

According to the property sales website the average sale price in the town is £136,072. The current average property price in the UK is £282,000.

Seaham has also used a £100 million cash injection to make itself an emerging destination for people to work, live or just visit.

The official tourism site for Durham This is Durham explained more about the beautiful spot on its heritage coastline.

It said: “Admire the dramatic cliff top views, seek out one of England's oldest churches or simply relax at the beach in Seaham.

“The tranquil beauty of the sandy North Beach, with its inviting rock pools, is sheltered by a long sea wall which also protects the cliffs from the power of the North Sea.

“Grab an ice cream or simply enjoy the stunning view from Seaham Harbour Marina or set off on a walk along the coastal footpath (part of the King Charles III England Coast Path) to reveal breathtaking views.”

There’s also something for history buffs - as Seaham also boasts one of the county’s oldest churches St. Mary the Virgin Church.

This place of worship is recognised as one of the 20 oldest surviving churches in the whole country. Located to the north of the town the Anglo Saxon church is believed to date back to the 7th Century.

And if you’re after a spot of retail therapy, located just down the A19 is Dalton Park - a huge discount retail park with big brand outlets from Adidas and Calvin Klein to Levi’s and New Balance.

There are plenty of beach goers who have had their say on the up and coming location including on Google Reviews.
