Nigel Farage has blasted William Wragg and the ongoing perceived inaction among Tory MPs over the honeytrap sexting scandal. Speaking to the Telegraph, Mr Farage called out Mr Wragg's actions as a "security risk" and urged an immediate investigation.
Last week, the 36-year-old MP admitted handing over the personal phone numbers of colleagues to a man he met on Grindr, a gay dating app.

At least 12 men whose numbers were handed over – including several MPs, staff and a journalist – were sent messages by senders identifying themselves as “Charlie” or “Abi”.
The senior Tory said he had been "scared" to disclose it sooner, explaining: "They had compromising things on me. They wouldn't leave me alone."

The MP for Hazel Grove added: "They would ask for people. I gave them some numbers, not all of them. I told him to stop. He's manipulated me and now I've hurt other people. I’m so sorry that my weakness has caused other people hurt.”
To the surprise of many, Mr Wragg was not suspended as a Conservative MP, and Tories have largely rallied around Mr Wragg, who serves as the vice-chairman of the 1922 committee.
Jeremy Hunt praised the MP as "courageous and fulsome" while other MPs privately worried that an investigation could lead to another by-election headache for the party.

Mr Farage said: “Honestly, I think it is reprehensible to give out private phone numbers of public figures to people who you know are bad actors.
“I think that is absolutely appalling and frankly a security risk as well, and all I’m hearing from Westminster is sympathy and what a courageous man William Wragg is. What he has done is abominable – no one dares call it out.”
He said there was a case for Daniel Greenberg, the parliamentary commissioner for standards, to investigate Mr Wragg.
Eliot Wilson, a clerk in the House of Commons between 2005 and 2016, echoed Mr Farage, writing in The Spectator that Mr Wragg should face consequences.

One Tory MP told The Independent: “The last thing you want is a by-election when there’s going to be a general election in six months anyway and he’s already said he’s standing down. I think if he wasn’t going to go at the general election it might be a different issue.”
