4WD driver nabbed following road accident in Sungai Siput which killed two brothers

       IPOH: The driver of the four-wheel drive (4WD) vehicle who is believed to have caused the death of two teenagers in a hit-and-run at KM38 of Jalan Ipoh-Kuala Kangsar near Taman Desa Salak, Sungai Siput, has been arrested.

       When contacted, Sungai Siput OCPD Superintendent Mohd Khaizam Ahmad Shahabudin said the man, in his 50s, was arrested near a farm in Salak Baru on Friday (April 5) at about 1.20pm.

       "Following the incident, our patrol vehicle units were informed to look out for the 4WD vehicle.

       "Our Motorcycle Patrol Unit (URB) managed to track him down near the farm and arrested him," he said, adding that the man works as a contractor.

       "We will try to get a court order to remand him tomorrow," he added.

       In the 7.10am incident on Friday, the man, who was coming from the Kuala Kangsar direction, was said to have made a sudden right turn into a junction near the housing estate.

       His vehicle entered the opposite lane and hit the motorcycle the two victims were riding on, before fleeing from the location.

       The victims, who died at the scene, were identified as Ahmad Zuhal Norazlan, 17, and his brother Ahmad Marikh, 13.
