JOHOR BARU: More than 300 accidents as well as two deaths have been reported in Johor on the eve of Hari Raya on Tuesday (April 9).

       Johor police chief Comm M. Kumar said some 1,730 policemen are stationed statewide under Ops Selamat 22, which is ongoing nationwide since Monday (April 8).

       "Focus is given to 49 (congestion-prone) hotspots and 31 (accident-prone) blackspots in Johor.

       "On the second day of Ops Selamat, there were 304 accident cases in Johor. Two people were also killed," he said in a statement here on Wednesday (April 10).

       Comm Kumar added that traffic along highways has been flowing smoothly as many have already made their way home earlier.

       "Traffic at the Bangunan Sultan Iskandar (BSI) and Sultan Abu Bakar Complex (KSAB) is also smooth," he said, adding that police will continue to monitor the situation.
