Princess Kate has "accidentally" exposed Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's fall from the heights of superstardom through her cancer diagnosis, a royal writer has claimed.
On March 22 Kate released a video explaining that she would continue to be absent from royal duties due to having preventative chemotherapy, with the news making headlines all over the world and world leaders and celebrities from all walks of life sending her messages of goodwill.
Writing on news.com.au, Daniela Elser pointed out that nothing the Sussexes had done recently had made the same level of impact, four years after leaving the Royal Family, with their recent collaboration working with Axios fighting deepfakes ahead of the US election going almost unnoticed.
She said: "In Kate becoming even more of a superpower – such that they should consider giving her a seat on the UN Security Council – that has, in turn, only illuminated a coincidental, second thing: how increasingly marginalised and diminished the Sussexes seem in comparison."
Ms Elser added that even though Meghan's new Instagram has reached over half a million followers, the former Sussex Royal account still has 9.2 million followers, even though it is no longer updated.

She added: "The disappointing thing is, the Sussexes are doing, or at least trying to do, work that matters. That deep fake campaign reported by Axios? This is a serious issue that could have a significant impact on this year’s US presidential election and therefore whether American democracy is about to crumble.
"The strange and shocking events that have rattled the Palace this year have only cemented Kate and husband Prince William as true figures of global consequence while Harry and Meghan, having forgone the royal imprimatur, have become sort of stateless actors who have slipped from news sections to the entertainment pages."

Teen social media aficionado turns her attention to the Royal Family
EXCLUSIVE: Lydia Alty started her YouTube channel at 13, and now she is 18 she is turning her attention to the Royal Family.
She told Daily Express US: "The main focus of what I did was royal journalism, in an interactive way, sort of engaging with a younger audience who use social media because what I’ve noticed is that people don’t really understand the Royal Family as much as they did.
"I’ve always liked the Royal Family, ever since I knew about them, but that’s where it started.
"When you start these social media things, it’s kind of like, 'Oh, I’ll just do it for fun,' and then you start to get lots and lots of views and it’s like, Oh, okay, all right, this is getting serious now.'".

Peter Phillips's two-word nickname which shows exactly why he was the Queen's favourite
Peter Phillips was Queen Elizabeth's first grandchild and was rumoured to be her favourite.
He is 18th in line to the throne, despite not being a working member of the Royal Family and not having a royal title, thanks to a decision made by his parents Princess Anne and her first husband Captain Mark Phillips.
His late grandfather once dubbed Peter, born November 15 1977, 'the winner' because he was so independent.

Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet have key role to play in fixing Royal Family feud
EXCLUSIVE: One PR expert believes that having Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet reunite with their royal cousins could be the key to fixing the feud between the Sussexes and the Firm.
Luana Ribeira, founder of Dauntless PR, explained that for children family feuds are the last thing on their minds.
She told Express.co.uk: "I hope the rumours that the King has invited Prince Harry and Meghan to Balmoral are true as it would be the ideal backdrop for them to mend their relationship, giving them the space and privacy to work through any issues and put them behind them.
"Allowing the young cousins to spend time with each other could be a good route back to a full reconciliation. After all, children usually couldn't care less about historic grievances and could get the adults focusing on what is really important - family."

Princess Kate and other royals banned from eating square-sandwiches due to bizarre reason
Princess Kate and other members of the Royal Family supposedly avoid eating pointy foods due to an unusual superstition.
In the documentary Secrets of the Royal Kitchen, Nr Newbould revealed: "The royals never have square sandwiches because tradition has it that anyone presenting them with pointed-edged food is trying to overthrow the throne of England."
Queen Victoria's husband Prince Albert also followed similar food superstitions, reportedly avoiding eating anything that was shaped like a coffin.

'I watched Meghan Markle in Suits for the first time and I wasn't convinced by her role'
COMMENT BY CATHERINE MEYER-FUNNELL: Before her marriage to Prince Harry in 2018 brought her fame across the world, Meghan Markle was known in Hollywood for playing Rachel Zane in the TV show Suits.
While the Netflix show may now be one of the streaming channel's biggest hits, when Meghan first started dating Harry in 2016 she was not a well-known face in the UK.
Suits ran from 2011 until 2019, with Meghan leaving her role a couple of years prior to its ending after her relationship with Harry became more serious.
Since the Sussexes relocated to Montecito in California there have been rumours that the Duchess may be looking to get back into Hollywood, with an LA-based Suits spin-off also in the works.
Given the level of fame that Meghan has achieved since being in the legal drama, one thing admittedly did surprise me when I sat down to watch the first few episodes of the first season, having never seen it before.
