JOHOR BARU: A male motorcyclist died on the spot after colliding with a car at KM17 along Johor Baru-Kota Tinggi road here.

       Seri Alam acting OCPD Deputy Supt Dr Mohd Roslan Mohd Tahir said a report has been lodged about the fatal incident involving a Honda C70 motorcycle and a Volvo car.

       “The incident happened at around 9.15pm on Tuesday (April 16) night. The car driven by a 51-year-old man had hit the motorcycle,” he said in a statement here on Wednesday (April 17).

       DSP Mohd Roslan added that investigation so far showed the motorcycle suddenly changed its course and entered the car’s lane, which was on the left side of the road.

       “Due to the collision, the 61-year-old local male motorcyclist suffered serious head injury where medical officers confirmed the victim had died at the scene.

       “Road users should always comply with road rules especially during peak hours and at night where they must always be vigilant while on the road,” he said.

       DSP Mohd Roslan also said that the case was being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 and urged those that witnessed the incident to contact Seri Alam police headquarters at 07-3864222 to help with the investigation.
