George Galloway has vowed to stop Sir Keir Starmer from sweeping into power without a fight. This comes after resounding wins for the Labour Party in big battles during the local elections this week, including in several mayoralty races. This has fuelled claims that a Labour majority at the next general election could be set in stone.
However, Mr Galloway has suggested that his Workers’ Party can play a similar role to Reform and the Tories by splitting the vote among Labour supporters - a view echoed by Nigel Farage.
Speaking to GB News, Mr Galloway confirmed that he plans to stand candidates everywhere at the next national vote. He said he was determined to bring about a hung Parliament in a challenge to Sir Keir Starmer’s Labour.

The Workers' Party MP said: “We are determined to stop Sir Keir Starmer forming a majority government. We seek to bring about a hung parliament in which a negotiated program comes about.
“This would include, for example, the introduction of proportional representation so the British people’s true will will be brought into effect in these elections. We have the most peculiar system, you’ll remember Nigel Farage’s party used to get millions of votes but no seats at all, that is fundamentally undemocratic.
“That would be one of our demands should the hung Parliament, which is currently being predicted, comes about.
“If they come to seek our support, they will have to work hard to win it.”

The Workers Party has exploited Labour divisions around the war in Gaza to win over disaffected voters.
Mr Galloway's strongly pro-Palestinian party won four seats this week - two in Rochdale, one in Calderdale and one in Manchester, where they ousted the Labour deputy leader of the council Luthfur Rahman.
This morning, Labour’s National Campaign Co-ordinator Pat McFadden told the BBC that the party's approach to Gaza had cost it votes.
On Saturday, Labour's deputy campaign coordinator Ellie Reeves also admitted it had "a lot of work to do" to rebuild support among Muslim voters before the general election.
