Labour has said it will allow small boat migrants into the asylum system - just as the Rwanda plan is showing signs of working.
Individuals who have arrived in the UK illegally since March last year have been blocked from submitting claims under a law passed by the Tories.

It has led to tens of thousands of people being stuck in limbo as they are yet to be deported because the Rwanda scheme is not up and running.
A Labour spokesman indicated that those arrivals - currently around 90,000 and expected to rise to more than 115,000 by the end of this year - will be entitled to claim asylum if the party wins the general election.

It comes as Rishi Sunak wants to see flights to Kigali off the ground by July after the Safety of Rwanda (Asylum and Immigration) Act became law last week.
The first migrants set to be deported to the east African nation have been detained this week, while one person has been sent to Rwanda under a separate voluntary scheme.
