Two young boys at the centre of a huge search have been found after vanishing from Cannon Hill Park in Birmingham on Sunday.

The families of Abu and Bilal, aged 10 and 12, had not had any contact with them since earlier today, sparking a police appeal.

Cannon Hill Park near Birmingham city centre would have been bustling with visitors due to the sunny weather. Police released a photo of the pair enjoying ice creams purchased from a van at the park.

Several officers were on the hunt for them and urged members of the public to get in touch if they had seen the boys.

Birmingham Police have since posted: "Missing ten-year-old Bilal and 12-year-old Abu have just been found safe and well. Thank you so much for your concern and for sharing our appeal."

Earlier in the day, the police issued a search for the missing boys. The force posted on X: "Have you seen Abu and Bilal? The 12 and ten-year-olds were last seen earlier today in Cannon Hill Park and we're concerned for their safety. We have a number of resources in the area at the moment searching for them, and we're asking anyone who sees them or thinks they saw them to call 999 immediately quoting log number 2218 of May 19."
