It's been revealed the backpack of renowned TV doctor Michael Mosley was found just 20 feet from his body as investigators work to discover the cause of the much-loved medic's death in Greece.
The 67-year-old, who went missing after leaving his wife and friends at Agios Nikolaos beach on Wednesday, was found by locals and journalists yesterday (SUN) near Agia Marina beach on the Greek island of Symi.
Heartbreakingly, his widow Dr Clare Bailey Mosley said her husband had "very nearly made it" to safety after it appeared he undertook a gruelling walk in the summer heat.
Pictures from the scene of the discovery showed investigators handling a backpack Dr Mosley was seen wearing, and an umbrella he was carrying to shield him from the sun was also found.
Dr Mosley was last seen taking a stroll in Pedi on the Greek island of Symi on Wednesday, which resulted in a missing persons report being filed later that evening after he failed to return to his accommodation.

He was discovered by shocked bar staff who were sent to check the area after a local cameraman and the mayor spotted his remains from afar on a boat.
Dr Mosley appeared to have undertaken an "incredible climb, took the wrong route and collapsed where he couldn't be easily seen" by emergency search teams.
An initial examination by a coroner has ruled out foul play but further tests are due to be carried out on the father-of-four in Rhodes to confirm a cause of death, the Daily Mail has reported.
His widow Dr Clare Bailey Mosley paid tribute to her "wonderful, funny, kind and brilliant husband", adding: "We had an incredibly lucky life together. We loved each other very much and were so happy together.
"I am incredibly proud of our children, their resilience and support over the past days. My family and I have been hugely comforted by the outpouring of love from people from around the world.
"It's clear that Michael meant a huge amount to so many of you. We're taking comfort in the fact that he so very nearly made it."
