Donald Trump has been attacked by Joe Biden on abortion access on the second anniverary of the US Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v Wade.
“Two years ago today, Donald Trump’s Supreme Court majority ripped away the freedom for women to access the health care they need and deserve,” the president wrote on X on Monday. “The consequences have been devastating. Trump did this.”
The Biden campaign has also launched a new ad in which a Louisiana woman describes being denied entry to two emergency rooms while suffering a miscarriage and comments that Trump “thinks he should not be held accountable for his own criminal actions, but he will let women and doctors be punished.”
Trump and Biden are currently preparing to go head-to-head in their first prime-time televised presidential debate of 2024 later this week, with the president taking time out at Camp David in Maryland to prepare.
The Republican, meanwhile, has been out on the campaign trail, imploring conservative Christians to vote for him at a conference in Washington DC over the weekend in an energetic and joke-filled speech and telling a crowd in Philadelphia that his trademark rambling approach to public addresses is a sign of genius.
