Nigel Farage has branded Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer “a frightened rabbit” and “dull as ditchwater” in a scathing assessment during a speech to supporters with just seven days to go before the general election.
And Rishi Sunak was also a target for the Reform UK leader, who described the Prime Minister as being “like a teenager trying to impress his prospective in-laws”.

Reform is currently in the spotlight after an undercover Channel 4 investigation captured activists making disparaging comments about ethnic minorities and the LBGT community. However, while Mr Farage conceded that he had been “let down by one or two people”, he concentrated his fire on the leaders of Britain’s two main parties.
Speaking in Boston in Lincolnshire last night, Mr Farage, who is standing for Parliament in Clacton, made reference to a BBC debate between the pair the previous evening.

“Looking like a frightened rabbit…unable to answer a question straight, no one knows who he is what he stands for.
“He says he comes from humble origins, but his uncle owned a castle just down the road from him in Surrey.
“He flips and he flops and he is absolutely as dull as dishwater.”

Mr Farage continued: “Then we’ve got Rishi, so energetic, like a teenager who's gone to meet the prospective parents in law, trying to do his best.”
The two “might well be competing to be middle managers in a supermarket somewhere”, suggested Mr Farage.
His observation echoed his infamous description of Herman van Rompuy, the former permanent president of the European Council, made in the chamber of the European Parliament in 2010, as having “the charisma of a damp rag and the appearance of a low grade bank clerk”.
An undercover Channel 4 reporter recorded one canvasser referring to Mr Sunak as a “f****** p***” and calling for migrants crossing the English Channel to be used as "target practice”. Another describing the Pride flag as a "degenerate" ensign and suggesting members of the LGBT+ community are paedophiles.

Referring to the report during his speech Mr Farge said: "We've had one or two candidates that have said things they shouldn't have said. In most cases they're just speaking like ordinary folk.
"They're not part of the mainstream political Oxbridge speak, we understand that. In some cases one or two people let us down and we let them go.
"Well, compare that to the international price fixing and betting ring that is the modern day Conservative Party."
Also yesterday, the Guardian reported that Reform UK withdrew support from its Basingstoke, Hampshire, candidate Raymond Saint, who allegedly appeared on a list of BNP members published on the website WikiLeaks more than a decade ago.
Speaking to the Daily Telegraph yesterday, Mr Sunak criticised Mr Farage for his suggestion that NATO expansion had led to Vladimir Putin's invasion of Ukraine.

He said: “What he said was wrong, it was completely wrong. It plays into Putin’s hand. This is the guy who used nerve agents on British streets, he’s doing deals with North Korea. That is who we’re talking about here.
"This kind of appeasement is very damaging not just for our security, but the security of our allies that depend on us and it emboldens Putin further."
