Immigration caseworkers could soon start processing the claims of people threatened for removal to the East African nation when Home Secretary Yvette Cooper announces legislation.
The Refugee Council, a UK-based charity, estimates that around 60,000 of the 90,000 people will be granted asylum, given the profile of the countries from which most of them came.
Reform MP Lee Anderson shared a snapshot of the story’s headline in a publication and mockingly added: “How to smash the gangs”.

Officials are expected to prioritise asylum seekers from “safe” countries such as Vietnam, Albania, Egypt and India, which makes up 30% of the overall figure, reports suggested.

Nearly 36,000 of the migrants are housed in hotels, costing the taxpayer £2.9million a day.
Ms Cooper has pledged to “start saving money straight away” and aims to end such hotel use within a year.
It is understood Labour can move them into the asylum system without having to repeal Rishi Sunak’s Illegal Migration Act.
In the King’s Speech on Wednesday, Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer pledged to “fix the broken asylum system” by clearing the asylum backlog, fast-tracking returns of migrants to safe countries and scrapping the “incredibly costly” Rwanda scheme.
The measures include a new Border Security, Asylum and Immigration Bill, which would give border force staff the ability to use counter-terrorism style powers to investigate and smash people-smuggling gangs.

A new Border Security Command will be funded by scrapping the Rwanda scheme, which will save £100 million in future payments and “tens of millions of pounds” that would have been paid for relocated migrants.
Rwanda has received £290 million under the agreement overseen by Boris Johnson, with just four failed asylum seekers voluntarily transferred to the African state.
It comes as Keir Starmer told The Sun that securing Britain's borders is a "priority for my Government".
Writing for the paper today, the Prime Minister insisted that he will use today's summit of European leaders at Blenheim Palace to urge them to work with Britain to "smash the vile criminal gangs that profit from illegal migration... [and are] unbothered if people die in the English Channel".
He accused the previous Government of focusing on "rhetoric and grandstanding", and leaving a "legacy of failure".

Setting out his plan, Sir Keir said: "We will patrol our waters. We will strengthen our borders. We will work through the backlog in the Home Office to speed up decision-making".
"This is crucial. If the gangs know people can stay in hotels here, without a decision ever being made, then they will keep on recruiting people for the journey.
"But with our new Border Security Command – launched last week – we also offer a completely new approach."
Meanwhile David Lammy confirmed the Government will use foreign aid funding to try to persuade people to stay in their home countries rather than seek to enter the UK illegally.
The Foreign Secretary said: “It is right that we should work with our European partners upstream in the countries that are most affected by smuggling gangs and also by the impulse to leave.
