       Nigel Farage has been tipped as a potential UK ambassador to the United States if Donald Trump wins the November Presidential election.

       The Reform UK leader has been a stalwart supporter of Mr Trump for many years and the pair have often been photographed together and shared the rostrum speaking at Republican rallies in the US.

       Politically the ideology of the GOP is closer to Reform than it is to Sir Keir Starmer's Labour, and Mr Farage recently told Express.co.uk: “I’ve got the best connections to Trump of anybody in British politics."

       He added: “Maybe behind the scenes I could be diplomatically helpful."

       However, Mr Farage would likely face criticism from political rivals and his constituents in the seaside town of Clacton, after he recently stormed to victory there in the July 4 election, becoming the latest MP, representing the area in the House of Commons.

       Republicans Overseas UK spokesperson Sarah Elliott told GB News Nigel Farage could be "very useful" to Donald Trump and a Republican administration come November.

       It comes after Mr Trump miraculously survived an assassination attempt on his life during a Republican rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on Saturday July 13.

       Mr Farage, who himself survived a near-fatal plane crash in 2010, was the first UK politician to fly out to give his well-wishes to Mr Trump personally after the attack.
