Sir Keir Starmer has confirmed plans for a third emergency COBRA meeting later today, as the Government plans to continue cracking down on far-right riots.
Speaking after a visit to a mosque in Solihull today, he told broadcasters: "Later on today I will have another Cobra meeting with law enforcement, with senior police officers, to make sure that we reflect on last night but also plan for the coming days".

The Government was relieved last night that threats of more than 100 riots across England failed to materialise, as anti-racism protesters carried out 30 counter-demonstrations.
However shops are still being boarded up in Scarborough and other towns, as residents fear further violence over the coming days.
While yesterday proved a largely peaceful day, the Prime Minister said it's "important we don't let up here".

Sir Keir said Wednesday night’s events turned out “much better than was expected”, and suggested the additional deployment of police officers and the quick sentencing of people involved in disorder were the reasons riots did not materialise.
“We were able to demonstrate the criminal justice system working speedily, so yesterday we saw the sentencing of individuals who had been involved in disorder days ago, some of them getting sentences as long as three years.
“That sent a very powerful message,” the Prime Minister said.
Last night police banned face masks from being worn in Liverpool, with offers telling counter-protests to show their faces.
Counter-demonstrators created a ring of steel around an asylum centre and a mosque, the former being a suspected target of the far-right.
In Birmingham several streets were put on 'lockdown', with most of the Jewellery Quarter shutting up shop early.

Keir Starmer has been facing pressure over the past week to show more energy in his response to the riots, including criticism that it took him nearly a week to convene COBRA for the first time.
He continues to reject demands from multiple senior opposition MPs to recall parliament. Writing in the Express earlier this week, Priti Patel said there is a "moral obligation" for MPs to return from their summer break.
The PM was also criticised by a former head of the Met Police earlier this week, who said he was unimpressed with the Prime Minister deploying tough language instead of a tough response.
Sir Paul Stephenson said that the Prime Minister’s use of “phrases like 'standing army', 'ramping up', 'full force of the law'... I rather think communities expect the full force of the to be used against thugs irrespective of who is motivating them”.
