Republican Donald Trump warned that suburban residents were “under attack” by criminals, while his Democratic rival Kamala Harris said he was becoming increasingly unstable as the two presidential candidates campaigned across the South on Nov 2, just three days before the US presidential election.
With opinion polls projecting a historically close election on Nov 5, Trump and Ms Harris stuck to familiar themes.
At a rally in Gastonia, North Carolina, Trump said he would deport millions of immigrants if elected and warned that if Ms Harris were to win, “every town in America would be turned into a squalid, dangerous refugee camp.”
Campaigning in Atlanta, Ms Harris said the former Republican president would abuse his power if he returns to the White House. “This is someone who is increasingly unstable, obsessed with revenge, consumed with grievance, and the man is out for unchecked power,” she said.

The 16th Conference of Parties (COP16) to the UN’s Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) was suspended by its president Susana Muhamad as negotiations ran almost 12 hours longer than planned and delegates started leaving to catch flights.
The exodus left the summit without a quorum for decision-making, but CBD spokesman David Ainsworth told AFP it will resume at a later date to consider outstanding issues.

Air pollution in Pakistan’s second biggest city Lahore soared on Nov 2, around 40 times over the level deemed acceptable by the World Health Organisation (WHO), data from IQAir showed.
The level of deadly PM2.5 pollutants - fine particulate matter in the air that causes the most damage to health - peaked at 610, with a reading above 15 in a 24-hour period considered unhealthy by the WHO.
The air quality index, which measures a range of pollutants, also spiked at 1,067.
