Sweden shooting: 'Get out of Europe' screamed seconds before gunman committed massacre

Shocking new footage has emerged from just minutes before the gunman responsible for killing 10 people opened fire at a school in Sweden.

The video was taken by student Hashem Shams, a pupil at Orebro's Risbergska adult education centre, which offers Swedish language courses for migrants.

The footage shows Mr Shams hiding in the toilet during the fatal rampage as the sound of gunshots echoes loudly from the other side of the door.

The video then cuts to the student filming himself while an alarm sounds, reacting to a close-sounding shot as he ducks down. Text overlaid on the screen reads: “People are calling for help”.

Mr Shams is then seen sitting on a toilet with his hands above his head as armed police enter the building.

The audio of the video has been analysed by broadcaster TV4, which reportedly reveals someone shouting: “You should leave Europe,” before two more shots were fired. It has not been verified if it was the voice of the gunman, Rickard Andersson.

Authorities believe Andersson, 35, may have attended the school, adding they had no information to indicate his ideological motives. Police described him as an unemployed, withdrawn loner.

Tuesday’s horrific events mark Sweden’s worst-ever mass shooting, with authorities saying the victims are of “multiple nationalities”.

When armed police officers attended the scene and found Mr Shams, he cried “I’m a student” as he was ordered to open the door. An officer then stormed in and ordered him to stand up and turn to perform a body search, ensuring he was not carrying any weapons.

Other witnesses have since come forward to share their experiences. Andreas Sundling, 28, described the moment the gunman began shooting down students in the hallway outside of his maths class before hearing banging on the door.

“We thought "now we are all dead" as they smashed in the door. At that moment, I thought "now we are dead". But it was the police,” Mr Sundling said.

Following his rampage, the 35-year-old turned the gun on himself, taking the number of deaths to 11. Investigators believe he acted alone.

On Wednesday afternoon, armed police conducted a raid on the suspect's house, adding that he possessed a firearms license.
