Grave concerns have been raised for the safety of a British pensioner who has mysteriously vanished in Spain. Gary Ferns, 70, was last spotted near Playa Las Vistas in Los Cristianos, Tenerife.

After feeling unwell in December, he was rushed to El Mojo?n Hospital by ambulance but was released the next day. Since then, no one has laid eyes on him. The Manchester-born man, easily recognisable with his blonde hair, blue eyes, and moustache, has been officially declared missing.

Gary's sister Elaine took to Facebook with a distressing plea: "My Brother is officially a missing person in Tenerife, he was picked up with an ambulance on the 19th of December 2024 but there is no record of him being admitted to Hospital. The police have been informed."

Gary struggles with his mobility due to a broken hip and past illness, and his reliance on a walking frame suggests he couldn't have gone far on his own. He went missing on December 19 with locals in Playa Las Vistas voicing their concerns.

Regulars at Noah's Ark bar in Puerto Colo?n, where Gary was a familiar face, are increasingly worried about his well-being, although there's currently no suspicion of criminal involvement.

The Missing Persons Tenerife community revealed shocking details amid an intensifying police search, saying: "There is an ongoing police investigation regarding Gary's disappearance."

A plea for help from the group explained that "Gary lives full time in Tenerife, has mobility issues due to past illness and a broken hip, and is a familiar face in the area of Playa Las Vistas. At least two people saw him leave in an ambulance."

The local group added to the urgency by stating, "He is so well known in the Playa Las Vistas areas that his absence has been noticed."

In a potentially critical development, a Tenerife resident reported seeing someone who matched Gary's appearance sleeping in the car park of an Aldi Supermarket just before the alarm was raised over his disappearance.
