       A new map reveals where in the UK will be hardest hit if Rachel Reeves carries out the “tax blitz” experts have suggested she might in the Spring Statement.

       Last month, Express economic expert Harvey Jones warned the Chancellor could be plotting to target pensions and inheritance with a raft of measures to boost HMRC’s revenue.

       Jones predicted Reeves would target pension tax relief in an unprecedented raid on an area “no Chancellor has dared yet” go after.

       He also tipped the Labour Party heavyweight to alter the way in which elderly relatives can gift cash to relatives before they pass away and make further changes to how properties are included in inheritance tax.

       Data firm Suffrago created an exclusive report for the Express that combines information on the number of pensioners and the level of home ownership to reveal which parts of the country will be hardest hit if Reeves decides to unleash tax armageddon.

       The findings will stir up even more anger amongst farmers, as Suffrago’s analysis shows rural seaside areas will bear the brunt of a potential raid on pensions and inheritance.

       Suffrage found that those most at risk hail overwhelmingly from areas that didn’t vote for Labour in the last election. Not one of the top 10 constituencies under threat elected a Labour MP at the last election with six choosing Conservatives and three Liberal Democrats. Fifth on the list is Nigel Farage’s Clacton constituency.

       In stark contrast, the areas that will be least affected are all cities.

       Every single one of the bottom 10 elected a Labour representative at the last election, nine of which are in London.
