A second Labour MP has been sacked by the Labour Party after they began investigating offensive leaked WhatsApp messages sent in a group chat of MPs and councillors.
Oliver Ryan had the whip suspended this afternoon in a meeting with the party's chief whip, with a party spokesman confirming the news.

They confirmed: "As part of our WhatsApp group investigation, Oliver Ryan has been administratively suspended as a member of the Labour Party.
"As soon as this group was brought to our attention, a thorough investigation was immediately launched and this process is ongoing in line with the Labour Party's rules and procedures.
"Swift action will always be taken where individuals are found to have breached the high standards expected of them as Labour Party members.”

The move comes after Andrew Gwynne was sacked as a health minister and suspended on Saturday night pending the investigation.
While Mr Ryan's messages were not as bad as Mr Gwynne's he expressed regret at failing to challenge offensive views shared in the WhatsApp group chat.
In a statement last night, the Burnley MP said: “Between 2019 and early 2022, I was a member of a WhatsApp group created by my MP and former employer, Andrew Gwynne.”
“Some of the comments made in that group were completely unacceptable, and I fully condemn them.
“I regret not speaking out at the time, and I recognise that failing to do so was wrong. I did not see every message, but l accept responsibility for not being more proactive in challenging what was said.
“I also made some comments myself which I deeply regret and would not make today and for that I wholeheartedly apologise.”

Labour is scrambling today to contain the scandal from growing, after Manchester police confirmed they have now recorded Mr Gwynne’s messages as a Non-Crime Hate Incident (NCHI).
A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: “We have received a small number of complaints relating to publicised messages allegedly from a WhatsApp group.”
“A non-crime hate incident has been recorded and we are in contact with our Parliamentary liaison as part of our initial enquiries.”
