Elon Musk has taken a swipe at Volodymyr Zelensky after the Ukrainian president's tense ceasefire talks with Donald Trump.
During a meeting at the White House on Friday (February 28), President Trump and his Vice President, JD Vance, confronted President Zelensky and encouraged a ceasefire with Russian president Vladimir Putin. This was not warmly received by Zelensky.

Meanwhile tech mogul Musk, who has been a "special government employee" since Trump reentered the White House earlier this year, clearly aligned himself with the recently -inaugurated American leader. In a post shared on X yesterday (March 2), Musk shared a meme depicting the famous 'trolley problem' which depicted Zelensky watching a tram crush people. It was captioned: "You can stop the tram at any moment but you refuse because you need guarantees that it won't start moving again in a few years."
Tensions were high during Friday's meeting when Vance suggested that the "path to peace and prosperity is maybe engaging in diplomacy." Zelensky quickly retorted, stating "nobody stopped him (Putin)" referring to Russia's previous acts of aggression before its full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.
Zelensky then questioned Vance: "What kind of diplomacy, JD, are you talking about? What do you mean?" The Vice President responded: "I'm talking about the kind of diplomacy that's going to end the destruction of your country."

He went on to accuse the Ukrainian president of being "disrespectful" and attempting to "litigate" the situation in front of the American media. Trump also fired back at Zelensky, declaring: "Don't tell us what we're going to feel. You're in no position to dictate that."
Since Ukraine was first attacked by Russia in 2014, leading to a full-scale invasion eight years later, leaders in the war-torn country have been adamant in their desire for NATO membership. Russia has consistently opposed this idea, fearing it would bring NATO forces too close to its borders, as reported by BBC News.
The 'trolley problem' mentioned in Musk's post is a renowned ethical thought experiment. It presents a situation where an individual must decide whether to let a trolley kill several people or actively divert it to kill one person. Conceived in 1967 by British philosopher Philippa Foot, it has recently gained popularity as a meme format on social media, with users adding their unique twist to the traditional dilemma.
