ISLAMABAD: The Uni-versal Service Fund (USF) has failed to start a single project in two years, and there is no representative from telecom operators on its board.
The USF projects are launched with the mandatory contributions of the four telecom companies. The government has failed to appoint telecom industry representatives to the USF board.
Industry sources informed that the total telecom revenue in the last two years was around Rs1.77 trillion.

Out of it, telecom operators had contributed 1.5 per cent to USF amounts to around Rs26 billion.
USF did not start work on a single project during the last years despite receiving hefty amounts from telecom industry.
