How much more of a fool can Keir Starmer make of himself? How much more embarrassment can he and his Barmy Army in Downing Street heap on this country? He excitedly announced this week that his Albania plan – to send our failed asylum seekers there – was going to help solve the spiralling migrant crisis.
Trouble is, he hadn’t bothered to discuss his grand plan with Albania’s PM, Edi Rama, whose immediate response was: “It’s never happening, matey.” Then Rama gave him another kicking at a joint press conference – where they looked like comics Little and Large – when he said he’d made it clear to anyone who’d bothered to ask that a similar deal he’d done with Italy was a one-off.

So why the hell did Starmer announce an Albania plan – which he boasted would show us all how serious he was about tackling the crisis – that he hadn’t run past the guy in charge of Albania? So, yet again, he was left standing on the global stage looking like a 24-carat plonker.

And while we should all be used to his mind-boggling incompetence by now, every time I see it in action I’m hit by a fresh wave of shock and awe, wondering at how such a buffoon ever got to run this country. And just to smear the egg all over Starmer’s face a bit more, dim-witted government officials then tried to say he’d never planned to do a deal with Albania anyway – which is obviously tosh.

So now, thanks to our PM’s stupidity, we’re back to where we were on illegal immigration – which is precisely nowhere. However, what’s crystal clear is that we can’t ever believe a single word he says on it.
When Starmer won the election, Rwanda – which he’d tried to thwart at every turn, and his party voted 134 times NOT to stop the boats – was actually ready to go. And even though it hadn’t been implemented, just the threat of it had hugely reduced the numbers coming here which – to any politician with half a brain – might have been a clue that, yes, it WOULD work as a deterrent.
But no, the leftie numpties just kept screaming how cruel and inhumane it was and how it flew in the face of human decency to send people there. So the minute Starmer got to Downing Street, he scrapped it.
All that manufactured hysteria about a country that’s one of THE most successful and fastest-growing economies in Africa, a country which has a stable government, a parliament that has the biggest majority of women in the world, that is forging ahead in manufacturing and has a vibrant tourist trade. Yet Starmer and his party of fools talked about it like it was some hellhole rogue state.
Had the Rwanda plan been implemented 11 months ago, the numbers coming now would be drastically reduced and Reform wouldn’t be snapping at Starmer’s heels and threatening his government.

The truth is the Rwanda plan would have been 100 times more effective than Starmer’s half-cocked Albania deal because migrants would never have been allowed to claim asylum in the UK, as the minute they set foot on British soil they’d have been immediately carted off to Rwanda.
The Albanian scheme meant that migrants arriving here would only be sent to Albania after they’d exhausted every possible avenue to stay here, which could have taken years. Also, given that 80% of all asylum claims are granted for the simple reason that our shambolic system has no way to remove these people, the Albania plan would have been pointless.
So now we’re back to square one, with record numbers of migrants hitting our shores every day and no plan to stop or get rid of them. Isn’t it about time Starmer with his new (faux) hardline approach on immigration admitted he cocked up by dumping Rwanda?

The French taxi driver who says David Lammy swindled him out of a ￡588 fare for a 362-mile trip from Italy to the French alps for a private skiing trip claims our Foreign Secretary acted like a "thug" and that during the fare row that Lammy twice bashed the driver’s seat and twice screamed at him “F*****g French”.
Nasim Mimun says Lammy and his wife also left his cab looking like a pig sty with food wrappers, napkins, plastic food trays all over the back seat. As for the Lammys’ accusation that the man had a knife in the glove compartment, Nasim says rubbish – it was a silver pen.
Lammy disputes all Nasim’s claims, even though the taxi driver drove to a police station to report the unpaid fare and to return Lammy’s luggage which had been left in the car. There are two sides to every story – and I know which one I believe.
But what I really want to know is who paid for this 300 mile cab fare to take him from Italy, where he’d been with King Charles and Camilla on business, to the French Alps? Was it us? Did it go on his expenses? We’re entitled to know.

It’s a damn disgrace Peter Sullivan, who spent 38 years in jail for a crime he didn’t commit, is only entitled to ￡1million in compensation. No amount of money could ever compensate for his lost life but a million quid doesn’t begin to touch the sides.
Sullivan, a labourer who back then was what people called “simple”, was forced into confessing to the murder of barmaid Diane Sindall without a lawyer being present and wasn’t allowed to retract it when one was.
And even though DNA evidence that would have cleared him was unearthed more than a decade ago, the authorities never offered it up and Peter Sullivan was left to rot.
Ludicrous when just last September a judge awarded burglar, Steven Wilson, ￡5.4million for life-changing injuries after he was stabbed working in a prison canteen. And jailed epileptic, Ryan St George, got ￡4.7million in damages for brain injuries after he fell out of an upper bunk in his cell.
Whoever the dumb, lazy detectives were who took away Peter Sullivan’s life in order to get a notch on their rap sheet need to be found and punished. And who the hell serves 38 years in prison for anything anymore – let alone a murder they didn’t commit?
