Wisconsin State Rep. Priscilla Prado described a "deeply unsettling experience" when a shirtless man allegedly attempted to open her front door several times late Monday night, according to her office and Wisconsin State Capitol Police.
Officials said they were investigating whether Prado was targeted. The lawmaker's doorbell camera outside of her home captured the incident and Wisconsin State Police released screenshots of the suspect in hopes of identifying him.
This incident comes a month after the targeted attacks in Minnesota, where lawmakers Melissa Hortman, John Hoffman and both their spouses were shot in their homes.
Wisconsin State Capitol police said this is an ongoing investigation.
Prado, a Democratic lawmaker from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, released a statement Tuesday afternoon saying "this has been a deeply unsettling experience, and I appreciate the influx of concern. I respectfully ask for privacy and patience as law enforcement continues its work."
Authorities described the suspect as a white male in “his late 40s to early 50s, approximately 6 feet tall, 200 pounds with shoulder length blond hair.”
The subject did not end up gaining entry into the residence but could be seen walking around Prado’s property for a period of time, though police did not confirm how long he was there for.
The investigation into the incident is currently active and ongoing.
