DERA GHAZI KHAN: Residents living in the riverine (katcha) areas along the river Indus have been advised to shift along with their valuables to safer places in anticipation of a major flood.
On the instructions of DC Shafqatullah Mushtaq and Rujhan AC Ashraf Saleh, local revenue officer Qismat Ali Khan Sargani alerted the residents about the looming threat of a major flood.
They warned of an increase in the intensity of the flood in the Indus after receiving floodwater from other rivers of Punjab at Punjnad.
The administration announced that people had been urged to shift their livestock, and other essential belongings to secure locations to avoid losses.
