In a post on TikTok, the user, known as @brycefishing_, who boasts 57,700 followers, could have nearly had a heart attack after what he spotted lurking underneath the waters during a recent fishing trip.
The caption read: "This strike gave me a heart attack! Letting your lure hang for a while can really provoke a strike, especially on tough days."
In the 12-second clip, which racked up 1,300 likes, it starts peacefully with a shot of the water. Then moments later, his bait is savaged by a water beast.

While he didn't specify what it was in the lake, the fisherman has spotted his fair share of pikes during his angling trips.

Many people were equally amazed by the catch as the comments section racked up dozens of users sharing their opinion.
One wrote: "Thank you for teaching me how to properly use a swim bait." While others commented with emojis.
The fisherman, who's based in the Netherlands, has shared similar videos like this in the past.
Previously, he was left speechless after witnessing an 'absolutely mental' strike during a fishing trip.
The 15-second long clip starts with the tiny fish swimming to the man's rod before a huge beast comes out of nowhere.
Then moments later, the massive pike swims to the surface and nabs the little creature who was minding its own business.

To legally fish in the UK, you must first own the correct rod fishing licence for the type of fish and location, as you'd need a specific one for salmon, trout, coarse fish and eels in England and Wales.
