Men have been pushed out of publishing, a female industry insider has admitted, as “ white, middle-class women ” hold positions of power. Women continuing to outnumber men in publishing is a “ disappointing ” trend, according to Sharmaine Lovegrove, founder of Hachette imprint Dialogue Books.
