MELAKA: Former executive council member Datuk Ibrahim Durum has been sworn in as the Melaka State Legislative Assembly speaker. The motion to appoint Ibrahim was proposed by Chief Minister Datuk Seri Sulaiman Md Ali and seconded by youth, sports and NGO development committee chairman VP Shanmugam at the first( special) meeting of the first term of the assembly on Monday( Dec 27).
