Train delays have increased by almost 10 per cent over the past year, figures show, with unions being warned that they are testing commuters’ patience by announcing strikes. Passenger groups and politicians said that there was a real risk that passengers may give up on public transport and turn to cars at a time when the industry should be inspiring people back on to the network. Figures from the Office for Rail and Road( ORR) show that only 72.4 per cent of the 1.6 million services that ran bet
