The number of patients waiting more than six weeks for tests to diagnose cancer has risen eightfold since the Covid pandemic, new analysis shows. Charities called for urgent action to tackle the" unacceptable backlog", saying too many people faced anxious delays for a diagnosis while tumours were growing.
