A metal hip implant used in thousands of NHS patients will be axed as a result of an increase in bone fractures. The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency( MHRA) said the implant, called a CPT hip system, should no longer be used.It comes amid fears that failing cobalt hip replacements could be affecting thousands more than first thought.
